What is The Strongest Kit in Rust? – Full Armor Set

Get maximum protection from all damage types with the strongest kit in rust!

Rust is a brutal game where you want every one of advantages you can have, especially with armor and protection.

One of the things I hated most as a beginner was losing fights where I sprayed my opponent first and then wondering why he didn’t die while I lay on the ground with only a few shots from his gun. If you’re like me, then you’ve probably reported someone as a cheater because of moments like these.

But what allowed them to survive was because they had something that I didn’t- a strong kit.

There are many armor and clothing in the game and each offers different levels and types of protection. So what is the strongest kit in Rust? In this article, we’ll be answering that question so you can head to battle with max protection and confidence.

A kit in rust is a set of weapon, clothing, and armor. A weapon that will give you firepower in PVP and PVE and armor that protects you against three primary damage types: Projectile, Melee, and Explosive.

The harder the armor the better it mitigates damage. However, when looking for the strongest kit in Rust, you also need to consider weight and mobility.

While the heavy armor set offers the strongest protection against damage allowing you to tank bullets like a chad, their heavy weight will greatly slow you down.

The strongest kit prioritizes protection against projectile damage (the most common threat in Rust) while keeping you as mobile as possible.

The strongest kit in Rust, the one I always go for, and the trusted armor of pros and veterans is the Metal Full Kit.

Metal Facemask – Head Protection

Protection:

Cold Exposure -4%
Radiation Exposure 0%
Explosion +8%
Stab +70%
Bullet +50%
Bite +8%

The first piece of armor in our full kit is the Metal Facemask which offers top-notch projectile and melee damage protection while keeping you agile. This pice of armor protects your most vulnerable body part- the head. One headshot is all it takes to send you to your sleeping bag. But with the Metal Facemask, you can take at least 3 headshots.

To craft the Metal Facemask you need:

  • 50 Leather
  • 15 High Quality Metal
  • 6 Sewing Kit

Metal Chest Plate

The metal chest plate and Metal Facemask are a dynamic duo that offers the best protection in the late game. This piece of armor protects your body and significantly reduces damage from direct attacks from the front and back.

While it has slightly less protection than the heavy armor, it certainly leaves you with more mobility for raids and PVP.

Protection:

Cold Exposure -8%
Radiation Exposure 0%
Explosion 0%
Stab +20%
Bullet +25%
Bite +3%

To craft the Metal Chest Plate you would need:

  • 50 Leather
  • 25 High Quality Metal
  • 8 Sewing Kit

Roadsign Kilt

While the Roadsign Kilt is a mid-tier armor, it offers the best balance of leg protection and mobility. We don’t have a metal leg armor so the Roadsign Kilt is currently the best available leg piece. You can usually find it in Basic Crates and Military Crates. I always find one when running Dome and Oil Rig.

Protection:

Cold Exposure -8%
Radiation Exposure 0%
Explosion 0%
Stab +25%
Bullet +20%
Bite +10%

To craft a Road Sign Kilt you need:

  • 20 Leather
  • 1 Road Signs
  • 2 Sewing Kit

Hoodie and Pants

The Hoodie and Pants combo offers the best protection in terms of clothing. The Hoodie protects the chest and arms while the Pants protect your legs. They are quite easy to craft as you only need a few sewing kits and cloth. But they offer useful minimal melee, explosion, radiation and bullet protection.

Hoodie Protection:

Cold Exposure +8%
Radiation Exposure +5%
Explosion 0%
Stab +15%
Bullet +15%
Bite +6%

Pants Protection:

  • Cold Exposure +8%
  • Radiation Exposure +5%
  • Explosion 0%
  • Stab +15%
  • Bullet +15%
  • Bite +3%

To craft a Hoodie and Pants, you would need these materials for each one:

  • 80 Cloth
  • 1 Sewing Kit

Tactical Gloves

Why would you need it when enemies aren’t even aiming for your hands, right? While the gloves may seem insignificant, they are one of the cornerstones of the strongest kit in Rust. Gloves don’t actually protect hands but protect your body.

But its most important feature is it decreases the sway when you shoot, significantly increasing your accuracy. You can craft this item or buy it in the vending machine at Outpost for 80 Scraps.

Protection:

  • Projectile 10 %
  • Melee 5 %
  • Bite 2 %
  • Radiation 5 %
  • Cold 7 %
  • Aim Sway -80 %

To craft Tactical Gloves you need:

  • Leather
  • Sewing Kit

Boots

Boots offer additional protection for the feet and legs. This is the best item for the footwear slot. Since the update in 2017, there has been no more separated damage to the legs and feet. This means that Boots now protect both feet and legs.

Protection:

Cold Exposure +8%
Radiation Exposure +3%
Explosion 0%
Stab +10%
Bullet +10%
Bite +3%

To craft Boots you need:

  • 20 Leather
  • 15 Metal Fragments
  • 1 Sewing Kit

No armor set is complete without a reliable weapon, and the Assault Rifle (AK-47) is unmatched in Rust. Its high damage, rapid rate of fire, and versatility make it the best weapon to use with the strongest Kit in Rust.

Damage:

  • Damage: 50
  • Accuracy: 4
  • Recoil: 36.4
  • Fire Rate: 450
  • Range: 188

  • 1x Rifle Body
  • 4x Metal Spring
