Skier Tarkov Trader Guide

Snag some of the best deals in the game with our Skier Tarkov Trader guide.

I was too busy sucking up to Prapor and Therapist, trying to survive with hand-me-down gear. But as I leveled up and started understanding Escape from Tarkov better, I realized Skier had some of the slickest trades and quests in the game. He’s not your typical “gear up and go” type, he requires a bit more finesse.

In this Skier Tarkov Trader Guide, I’ll help you understand who Skier is, what he trades, and what kind of quests he throws your way. This isn’t just info from the wiki, this is from someone who’s run errands for this shady dude countless times.

Skier Tarkov Trader Guide: Who is Skier

Skier Tarkov Trader Guide: Who is Skier?

Skier is one of those traders who seems chill at first, but quickly makes you question whether you’re doing dirty work for the right side.

His real name is Alexander Fyodorovich Kiselyov, and he’s a former Customs terminal security head turned black market fixer. While his dialogue might seem short and direct, you quickly learn he’s heavily involved in some shady business..What makes Skier unique is how he balances between legality and straight-up black market dealings.

To get into his good graces, you need to meet certain requirements:

  • Loyalty Level 2: You need a 0.40 reputation and ₽1,600,000 in sales. This is when his better trades and quests open up.
  • Loyalty Level 4, though, is the real goal. You’ll need to be level 38, have at least ₽2,600,000 in sales, and push your reputation up to 0.75. It’s a grind, no doubt, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Skier Trades

Skier Trades

When it comes to trades, Skier’s inventory has a bit of a smuggler’s touch. He doesn’t always deal in the most flashy stuff, but he’s got a knack for giving you solid mid-tier weapons, attachments, and armor in exchange for barter items that are often overlooked.

I personally loved checking his trade list every reset to catch those deals that helped me save cash while gearing up.

What He Takes

Skier’s trades mostly revolve around barter items. Such as electronics, tools, and rare components. Things like:

  • USB Adapters
  • Diaries
  • WD-40 (the big one)
  • Graphics cards
  • Power cords
  • Power supply units

There were plenty of times I’d hoard items like hard drives and Tetriz units not for selling, but specifically to use in trades with Skier.

What He Gives

In return, he offers some incredibly useful gear. A few trades that saved me more times than I can count include:

  1. MP-153 12ga Semi-Auto Shotgun for a can of WD-40 and Wires – Perfect for early quests.
  2. AKS-74U with attachments for electronics – A decent budget build for tight PvP maps like Factory or Customs.
  3. Hexgrid Armor for a mix of electronics – I grabbed this every time I saw it available mid-wipe.

Skier’s also got some solid suppressor and sight trades. If you’re building out an effective DMR or budget AR, he might just have the attachments you need without draining your stash of roubles.

Skier Quests

Skier Quests

Ah, the infamous Skier questline. If you’ve been in Tarkov for a while, you probably know that Skier’s quests range from oddly simple to hair-pullingly frustrating. He often tasks you with shady objectives, such as smuggling items, planting trackers, and stealing documents. Then he’ll always make you feel like you’re tiptoeing through someone else’s turf.

Skier’s quests are some of the most diverse and PvP-heavy in the game.

What He Requires

Most of Skier’s quests revolve around:

  • Weapon modifications – He’ll ask you to mod guns to specific specs, which taught me more about attachments than any wiki ever could.
  • Sneaky tasks – Like “Golden Swag,” where you have to retrieve a golden lighter from Dorms and stash it in a trailer park cabin. This quest in particular had me sweating bullets every time.
  • PvP-related challenges – For example, “Friend From the West” involves killing PMCs while wearing specific gear. These force you into uncomfortable loadouts and situations, but it’s all part of the learning curve.

Notable Quests

  1. Golden Swag – Classic Skier. Simple on paper, but Dorms is a death trap mid-wipe. I failed this quest more than once due to greedy PMCs lurking for easy kills.
  2. Chemical Part 1-4 – One of his longest chains, this multi-part quest has you gathering chemical documents, choosing allegiances, and eventually deciding between helping Skier or Therapist. It’s a morality test wrapped in a firefight.
  3. Silent Caliber – He challenges you to kill PMCs with suppressed weapons. This one forced me to rethink my playstyle and get sneaky.

Typical Rewards

  • Roubles – Typically ranges from 30,000 to 80,000.
  • Experience – 3,000 to 12,000 XP depending on quest difficulty.
  • Gear and Weapon Rewards – Skier sometimes rewards you with silenced SMGs, modded AKs, and armor.
  • Unlocks – Completing certain quest chains opens up new trades and reputation boosts, pushing you closer to that coveted Loyalty Level 4.

In my own wipe progression, I made it a point to push Skier’s quests early so I could access his better trades before hitting level 30. It paid off every time, especially since he also opens up access to quests from other traders like Peacekeeper.

Conclusion

Skier might seem like just another trader at first, but he’s a powerhouse when it comes to mid-wipe progression. His barter trades are clutch when you’re short on cash, and his quests sharpen your tactical edge.

If you’re gunning for success in Tarkov, this Skier Tarkov Trader Guide is your blueprint for working with one of the game’s most underrated allies.
