Killa doesn’t mess around, he’s got a Level 6 visor, an RPK that shreds, and an AI that can outsmart even experienced players. But with the right strategy, gear, and execution, taking him down is not only possible but also rewarding. In this guide, I’ll teach you how to kill Killa in Tarkov in the most effective way.

1. Choosing the Right Gun

Not all weapons are equal when it comes to taking down Killa. You need something powerful, accurate, and capable of breaking through his tough armor. Based on my experience, here’s how I rank the best guns to fight him:

1. Mosin – The cheapest option but not ideal. It can one-shot him with the right ammo, but it’s bolt-action, meaning you only get one chance before he sprays you down.
2. SVT-40 – A step up from the Mosin. It’s semi-auto, allowing for faster follow-up shots, but still lacks in close-quarters fights.
3. AVT-40 – Better for CQC (close-quarters combat) due to its automatic mode. Still, it’s not the best all-around choice.
4. SVD – Great balance of range, fire rate, and damage. It’s a solid pick for fighting Killa at a distance.
5. ASH-12 – The absolute best option. It’s built to shred Killa’s armor, and with PS12B ammo, it makes quick work of him.

Tip. If you can get your hands on an ASH-12, use it. Otherwise, stick with an SVD or AVT-40 depending on your fighting style.

2. Right Ammunition

The gun is only half the battle, you need the right ammo to take Killa down efficiently. Here’s what works best:

• BT, SNB, and BS rounds (for SVT, AVT, and SVD) – These rounds can penetrate Killa’s armor and helmet effectively. If you find BS, use it—it can one-tap Killa through his visor.
• PS12B rounds (for ASH-12) – These are the best rounds for farming Killa. They deal insane damage and shred armor easily.
• Avoid shooting his visor – Most rounds won’t penetrate it in one hit. If you aim for his head, make sure it’s the top of his helmet, not the visor.

Tip. Using the wrong ammo will turn the fight into a prolonged battle, which is exactly what you don’t want. Bring the best rounds you can find and end the fight quickly.

3. Gear and Loadout 

Besides a good gun and ammo, your gear setup plays a huge role in how the fight goes. My recommended loadout:

• Armor: Carassa or other high-tier armor with good plates. Killa’s RPK hits hard, so you need protection.
• Helmet & Headset: A good headset helps you hear Killa’s movements. Some players opt for face shields, but it’s personal preference.
• Flashbangs (4 minimum): Flashbangs are the most effective tool against Killa. I always bring four—one for IDEA, one for OLI, one for Goshan, and one for the middle of the mall. A well-placed flash can stun Killa long enough for an easy kill.

Tip. Going in without proper gear means you’re gambling with your life. Prepare well, and you’ll have a much better shot at winning.

3. Locating Killa on Interchange

Finding Killa is half the battle. He spawns randomly across Interchange, usually near high-loot areas like IDEA, OLI, and Goshan. However, a trick can help you determine if he’s in your raid.

• Use the “packet loss” trick – When you load into a raid, check the top-right of your screen. If you don’t see a red packet loss symbol at 39:38, Killa might be in your raid. But if you see it like the picture above, he isn’t there.
• Daytime vs. Nighttime Killa:
  • Daytime (after 5:00 AM) – Killa’s AI is aggressive. He spots you from far away and pushes aggressively.
  • Nighttime (between 22:00-5:00) – Killa’s AI is nerfed. He doesn’t detect players as easily, making him easier to ambush.

Tip. If you want the safest approach, hunt Killa at night when he’s less aware. If you go during the day, be prepared for a tougher fight.

5. Engagement Strategies 

When fighting Killa, positioning is everything. Here’s how I approach him:

1. Flash First: Before engaging, throw a flashbang into the area where he might be. If he yells, you know he’s there.
2. Use Cover: Killa’s RPK can laser you down instantly. Peek corners and use obstacles to avoid open fights.
3. Engage from a Distance: If possible, shoot him from far away to avoid his deadly spray. The SVD is great for this.
4. If He Rushes You, Don’t Panic: Killa loves to push. If he rushes, fall back, throw another flash, and reposition.
5. Don’t Let Him Heal: If he hides behind cover, he might be using a medkit. Push aggressively if you hear healing sounds.

6. Tricking Killa’s AI 

Killa’s AI can be manipulated if you know how. A few tricks I use:

• Throw a grenade or flashbang to force him out of cover.
