Server Wipe
The 0.16.0.0 update brings a complete profile reset, wiping all player progress including characters, stash contents, and accumulated gear. This reset allows everyone to start fresh in the new winter environment. Players keep their prestige levels permanently across wipes, ensuring long-term progression remains intact. Additionally, each player receives a permanent +1 Charisma skill level boost at the start of the wipe.
Winter Season
The winter season in Tarkov brings environmental changes with enhanced visual effects and dynamic snowdrifts scattered across the maps. Factory receives a complete winter makeover, featuring snow coverage and seasonal elements. New winter-specific sound design creates an immersive atmosphere across all locations.
The harsh climate introduces Frostbite, a new status effect that affects both visibility and stamina. Players can counter this condition by seeking shelter, warming up near burning barrels, or drinking alcohol. This new survival mechanic adds another layer of tactical consideration to every raid, forcing players to balance combat readiness with environmental protection.

Continuous Healing
The new continuous healing system lets players treat all injuries with a single medkit use. This feature automatically heals body parts in order of priority: heavy bleeding first, followed by light bleeding, fractures, and general damage. The system prioritizes the most severely damaged areas, with head and thorax receiving final treatment.
Players can access continuous healing in two ways: by enabling it as the default healing method in-game settings, or by using the mouse wheel to select “Full treatment” when pressing a medkit hotkey. The latter requires setting the slot’s button type to “Release” in the settings menu.
This streamlined healing system reduces the time spent managing individual injuries and simplifies medical treatment during intense firefights.
Hideout Customization
The Hideout now features customization options and social features. Players can modify floors, walls, ceilings, and Shooting Range targets, plus display posters and collectibles throughout their space. Other players can visit your customized Hideout through profile views.
Customization options unlock through character progression, task completion, and achievements. The Shooting Range targets become available as you upgrade the zone and finish specific tasks. Mounting capabilities for posters and items expand with Hideout upgrades. Players can find posters as in-raid loot or earn them through Prestige levels. Collectible items match those from the Hall of Fame zone.

Hidden Exfils
Hidden exfils add a new way of raid extraction. Players must find special items in the raid to reveal these secret escape points, which don’t appear in the initial Exfil list. Once discovered, the hidden exfil location becomes visible to the finder and their team members.
These exfils work for both PMCs and Scavs. Any player near an activated hidden Exfil can use it, regardless of whether they found the activation item themselves. The special items are location-specific and can’t be kept between raids – they either get used or deleted at the raid end.
Hidden exfils are now available across eight maps: Customs, Shoreline, Reserve, Lighthouse, Ground Zero, Factory, Streets of Tarkov, and Woods. Each map’s hidden exfil requires its own unique activation item, creating new opportunities for exploration and tactical decision-making during raids.
Final Words
To sum up, the 0.16.0.0 update reshapes Tarkov with more than just winter weather and frostbite. Beyond these major features, the patch introduces new weapons, items, and equipment. Players will discover map changes, AI improvements, sound updates, and extensive bug fixes. This overview covers the key highlights, but the full patch brings numerous quality-of-life improvements and gameplay refinements worth exploring.
